Eating in any big city is hard. One, because there are thousands of options—I mean, talk about choice overload. Two, in popular travel destination cities, not all of the options are worth a visit (many are expensive and just average—a terrifying combination).

And if you don’t plan where you’ll eat on your trip, it’s highly likely you’ll end up wasting your money for food that’s just “okay.” Or worse, you’ll end up surrounded by Americans at a tourist trap restaurant.

But that’s NOT going to happen to you, my fellow foodie. Not in Madrid.

Because after almost a dozen trips to Madrid, I’ve compiled a complete two-day foodie itinerary so you can make every bite 100% worth the trip. Each of these restaurants was carefully selected and taste-tested by yours truly.

🥘Visiting Spain soon? Check out the complete guide to Spanish cuisine. See what “real” Spanish food actually looks like—and the top 10 dishes you must try during your trip.

In this guide, you’ll get:

  • A day-by-day eating plan (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert),

  • What to order at each restaurant—my recommendations, plus prices so you avoid awkward surprises.

  • An organized and easy-to-follow Google Map with all the recommended restaurants (plus things to see and do in-between meals),

  • Where to eat famous Spanish dishes like patatas bravas, churros con chocolate, and el bocadillo de calamares: the famous squid sandwich.

(If you want the nitty-gritty and are wondering how I plan my foodie trips, check out this post here.)
